About View
PZView allows you to display files generated by many popular
applications--without starting the application or even knowing which
application created the file.
For example, in any text editor or word processor, a spreadsheet file
would be unrecognizable. However, View automatically selects the
correct viewer and displays spreadsheet files approximately as they
would appear in a spreadsheet program. Of course, View is not a
spreadsheet program, so you can't use it to make changes to your file,
but you can view your work without having to start the spreadsheet
program.
The viewer is available from within UNDELETE and CPBACKUP.
Types of files that can be viewed include word processing files;
spreadsheet files; database files; graphics files, such as those
created in PC Paintbrush; binary files, which may contain executable
code; and files created by archiving applications.

Viewing a File
To select a file to view:
Using the arrow keys, highlight the file that you want to view
and press ENTER to select it, or use the mouse to double-click
the file that you want to view.
The View window appears with the type of viewer identified in
the title bar of the window. View attempts to use the correct
viewer for the file you want to view. If View does not recognize
the file, it uses the Binary viewer.
The View window
The View window
PZThe View window is divided into three areas:
If you loaded View from another program, the Horizontal Menu Bar
at the top of the window displays menu commands for that
program.
The main area displays the contents of the current file. To
scroll text, use the arrow keys or (if you have a mouse) use
the scroll bars along the right and bottom edge.
The Message Bar at the bottom of the window lists commands
that you can execute with function keys or by clicking the
command. Available function keys change depending on the viewer
you are using.
To exit the View window and return to the program you opened View from,
press ESC or F3, or click the close box in the upper-left corner.

Scroll Bars
PZThe View window contains two scroll bars: a vertical one at the right
and a horizontal one at the bottom. A scroll box in each bar indicates
the current position of the window in relation to the overall file. For
example, if the window shows the last part of a long file, the scroll
box will be at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar.
If you have a mouse, drag the scroll box on either bar to the position
corresponding to the portion of the file you want to view, then release
the button. For example, if you want to scroll to the middle of a file,
move the scroll box to the middle of the vertical scroll bar.
You can also scroll the file one line at a time by clicking the arrow
buttons at the ends of the vertical scroll bar, or you can move right
or left using the horizontal scroll bar.

if you type "DATABASE," it will not find files containing "Database",
